“Dab For Life” – New Online Charity Bingo Game

Many of the UK’s online bingo operators have been working hard to raise much needed cash, for some of the country’s most worthy charities.  Gala Bingo, William Hill, Wink Bingo, Think Bingo, Posh Bingo and the 888Ladies only recently launching their own charity drives to raise money for breast cancer.  And Costa Bingo, only the other week, joining in with the BBC’s ‘Children In Need’ campaign.  To date, all have been extremely successful.  Which just goes to show, no matter how skint us Brits get we’ve always got a few bob to give to away!  And what better, more enjoyable way to do it, that by playing bingo online.  Or, joining in with any of your local halls charity events – if you’re really lucky… you might get to witness the local vicar getting his legs shaved… oohh errr : )

FatSpanner are reknowned online for their electronic games. Considered specialists in the field, and successful at what they do.  Even so, their name is about to be associated with a far more notable and noble causes.   FatSpanner will be launching a new bingo game called Dab for Life Bingo.  Five percent of all the net profit made from the game will go to the UK Breast Cancer Campaign, which is a very respectable donation indeed.

The 5% will come entirely from the pockets of FatSpanner, who have made a secure commitment to pay out at least 10,000 over the next couple of years – whether the game is a hit, or a miss. Alison Walker stated that they were “delighted to welcome FatSpanner as a corporate partner”, adding that it would be very exciting “to see how the ‘Dab for Life’ game does.”  Indeed, this is a big commitment on behalf of FatSpinner.  According to the company’s New Business Director, Alfio Monterosso, they wanted to assure the charity of at least £10K so they weren’t left “at the mercy of speculation”.

Many online operators have ‘done their bit’ for charity of late.  However, this move by FatSpanner is more of a ‘corporate agreement’.  They being among the first developers to take some ‘social initiative’…as it were.  That fact in itself, putting this venture well ahead of the game… And it should be noted, as with any new venture, there are certain risks involved… for them, the developers. As Monterosso states, “Dab For Life represents a substantial undertaking over and above the usual development tasks” .

Although it is very much a new game in it’s own entirety, “Dab For Life” has been derived from Fat Spanner’s “True Skill” Bingo ( a SWAP game for iphones).  It has been very successful, and there’s no real reason to think it’s predecessor,  “Dab For Life”, won’t follow in its footsteps.  FatSpanner displayed a prototype version at London’s recent “Preview Show”, where the game generated a lot of interest.  Obviously, the company think it’s a great idea.  Else they wouldn’t have developed it!  According to Monterosso, the company had been keen to see if “the concept would be embraced by potential customers with the same enthusiasm”  at the show.  And the results?  According to Monterosso, the company “needn’t have worried”.  Sounds promising!

.Only days ago, FatSpanner released the first ‘test machines’ and are now anxiously awaiting the results.  If all’s well (and it‘s looking good up to now), then we can all look forward to this new game being launched commercially early in the new year.
Corporate Partnerships Executive for the Breast Cancer Campaign, Alison Walker stated that the money would be put to good use, “helping to fund innovative research into beating breast cancer”.  As well as “making a genuine difference to the lives of the one in nine women diagnosed each year.” That means there are thousands of women every year, being diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK.  With funding, research can continue to look for a cure.  And in the meantime, the money raised can also be used to make life more comfortable, for those women who are left fighting the disease. Hopefully, where FatSpanner are leading, others will follow.  And that can only be good news for everyone.
