Tombola Bingo have become one of the major players in the online bingo world. But it seems like fans of the site will have to wait for the latest promotional activity from the online bingo site. Bumper ad’s were due to be screened shortly in conjunction with a sponsorship tie in with Emmerdale. This was to cement Tombola’s reputation as one of the biggest online bingo operators around, making some much needed catch up in the marketing efforts of other bingo giants like Wink Bingo and of course, everyone’s favourite Fox of Foxy Bingo.

The new Tombola Emmerdale bumper adverts were supposed to be ready to be screened at the beginning of November, however, a recent release from the site suggests that fans will have to keep themselves falling off the edge of their seats for a few more days. Transmission dates look set for the 16th November. Although no particular reason was given for the delay, we are sure it’s to try and make them that little bit extra special as Tombola try and steal some of the Fox’s thunder.

Tombola have become increasingly innovative in their advertising methods following an Advertising Standards Authority decision which banned a Tombola Bingo advert for appealing too much to younger viewers. Since then, the operator has bounced back, asking it’s own online bingo account holders to feature in the soon to be released slots. A request was put out on the online bingo website for players to answer a few simple questions to be in with a chance of winning a few seconds on the silver screen. And then a further request for applications from male online bingo players over the age of 25 was posted, following a huge number of female applicants.

Filming for the Tombola Bingo trailers took place in London on 24th October and on 3rd November respectively, with Tombola besieged by plenty of bingo fans to keep their hands full! On both dates the lucky players chosen to feature in the tombola bingo bumpers turned up to star alongside some of Tombola Bingo’s famously friendly Chat Moderators (CM’s). All Response Media were responsible for securing the deal between Tombola and Emmerdale, with rumours suggesting Tombola will sponsor Emmerdale right into 2010, with sponsorship due to end in the middle of January.

TV Sponsorship used to be the domain of big name companies (Cadbury’s were the first sponsor of a soap back in the day…) but it seems like the online bingo world is sending out a message to the world that it can compete on a primetime level! With Wink Bingo and many Cashcade brands such as Foxy Bingo and Cheeky Bingo indulging in a spot of marketing money flashing, next year looks set for online bingo making regular invasions into our TV sets. We for one cannot wait to see the ads!
