We all like to think we do our bit for Charitable Causes and Gala Bingo have been long term supporters of the Sue Ryder Charity. What’s more, they are about to increase the amount of that support by offering even more games to members in which a percentage of the funds raised on certain games are given over to this very worthy cause. Sue Ryder Care was nominated as the chosen Charity of Gala Coral Staff back in 2008 when the group were voting on which charity to patronise.
You may have heard the old adage that the difficult they will do right now, the impossible will take a little time. In 2009 Gala Bingo set themselves the impossible task of raising £1 million. Well, they smashed the £1 Million target and have decided this year to set the bar even higher. Gala Bingo want to better the figure of last years target by another £500,000 and raise funds to give Sue Ryder Care a totally awe inspiring £1.5 Million.
Starting this week, the Sue Ryder Link Game will now commence at 7.24pm every day in 11 of 90 ball online UK bingo clubs instead of just once a week on a Tuesdays. 10% of all funds raised from the ticket sales in these special games will be handed over to the charity that cares for people living with health problems such as cancer patients, stroke victims and sufferers from MS and Huntington’s disease.
This is not Gala Bingo’s first sojourn into fund raising for charity on a larger scale. In the recent past, Gala Bingo were running the Mrs Obama’s Bingo’ campaign which managed to raise £10,000 for Sue Ryder Care. This was accomplished by grabbing media and public attention during Barack Obama’s inauguration with the assistance of his bingo loving step mother, Kezia.
Internal fundraising events have also been organised at Gala Bingo including a Back to the Floor’ night where a senior officials of Gala Bingo team hosted an evening in Woking Gala Bingo Club and even an Everest Climb which saw 25 staff play the World’s highest ever game of bingo!
