Live Bingo – blurring online bingo boundaries?!

Just a few short months after the announcement that Crown Bingo have launched a great live bingo feature, it seems Littlewoods Bingo are hopping on board as well, thanks to the introduction of their Live Bingo feature. Yup, it seems the next stage for online bingo is to blur the boundaries between online and offline bingo, by incorporating a slightly more interactive feature on site thanks to some real life, video linked, live bingo presenters! But is this just another online bingo gimmick to try and achieve some standout in an online bingo world that is almost reaching critical mass – or does live bingo features really help to enhance your online bingo experience?!

Looking from the upside of live bingo, the idea allows online bingo to become that little bit friendlier. As much as we love online bingo chat games, and have made some firm friends by diving head first into some of the fantastic online bingo communities out there, sometimes we do feel that online bingo can be a little… well… empty. The idea of live bingo seems like a perfect compromise in principle, merging the fun feel of a real life bingo club with the comfort of your own home. Sure enough, we have a sneaky suspicion there are plenty of offline bingo fans that would find these live bingo features a turn on rather than turn off. As well as having chat hosts, the idea of having live bingo presenters seems to bring a little bit more to the experience, allowing us humble online bingo fans to have our cake and eat it.

But at the same time, there is much to be said about the very nature of online bingo. As much as we love to natter, we have a feeling there are plenty of online bingo fans out there that enjoy the buzz from online bingo in a more serious manner. Some of the more hardcore online bingo players have very little time for the fun aspects of online bingo, and although we do not fall into this camp, we can kinda see their point.

Then there is the argument that isn’t this a bit of a power play from the online bingo world to continue capitalising on the bad luck of the offline bingo world? By nabbing some of the features that up until now were unique to offline bingo clubs, it seems the days of the bingo hall are becoming even more numbered.
