We have long been advocates that bingo is a game for all ages, and the fun associated with playing at your local bingo hall or playing online bingo can really help to keep you young at heart. So we were thrilled to hear of the latest exploits of a bingo loving Granny from New Hampshire in the good ol’ US of A!
The plucky 92 year old clearly needed a bit of a break from the thrills and spills of her local bingo hall, and promptly plumped for some high octane action of the extreme variety by taking her very first sky dive last month! WTG!!!
Jane Bockstuck commented to her local paper “The Keane Sentinel” that she apparently did not know the method behind her madness saying “I have no idea why I decided to do it.”
She fiurther confessed “I must have read it someplace and all of a sudden, ‘I’m going to go skydiving.’ So I did.” Jane also went onto say that she did not remember very much about her sky diving jump, “I must have blacked out or something,” she said, laughing. “When you get that close, you say, ‘Oh God. How stupid can you be?”
Not surprisingly, Jane’s family were less than impressed initially with her thrill seeking birthday celebration – the skydiveactually formed part of her 92nd birthday celebrations. Her son Scott said, “I thought she was totally insane, I’m only kidding, but you know, I had some serious doubts, for sure.”
However her family soon came round to the idea and were out in force to witness their treasured nanna dice with death from a high altitude! We personally LOVE this story, and think that Jane is a most untypical example of your typical bingo player. A great sense of fun, a willing to have a bit of flutter, and a willingness to put your money where your mouth is! Although we obviously have our doubts that many online bingo fans, or many people for that matter, would go as far as jumping out of plane at 92 years old, or any age for that matter!!
Nevertheless, we have found ourselves recently reporting over more and more high octane bingo action! With jackpots hotting up online, and the recent news of a group of Gala Bingo employees attempting to trek all the way up to the top of Mount Everest to indulge in a spot of world record beating bingo, we have to say maybe there are a few more daredevils in bingo halls and bingo chatrooms than you’d first imagine!
In fact, not so long ago a story was published about the health benefits of bingo, saying that bingo helps to keep the mind active, warding off diseases like Alzeheimers, Dementia and even prolonging your life! And if Jane’s antics at the ripe old age of 92 years old are anything to go by, a lifetime of bingo playing can only lead to more thrills and spills in later life!!!
