10 for 10: Our Bingo Predictions

We are always aiming to bring you the very best in bingo news, and over the next few weeks, we will be bringing you a special series of articles addressing the BIG bingo issues that we think are going to affect the online bingo and local bingo industry in 2010.

Since 2009, the online bingo industry has ballooned, with hundreds of new bingo sites offering an increasingly dazzling (and confusing) array of bingo promotions, big bingo prizes, and a ton of free bingo and free bingo no deposit offers. As a result, we have seen big industry merges, with the buyout of bingo giants like Foxy Bingo and Cheeky Bingo by PartyGaming, and most recently Posh Bingo and Wink Bingo by 888Ladies owner 888Holdings.

And the offline bingo industry also managed to hit the headlines, with plenty of coverage offered to the plight of ailing local bingo communities and struggling giants like Gala Bingo as the effects of the smoking ban, recession and dwindling player numbers hit their profits hard.  Add to the mix an ongoing battle with the Government over the unfair tax levels, and you soon realise bingo is becoming bigger news on the national agenda.

And in between, we’ve bought you stories from the lighter side of bingo life, from heartwarming tales of love found to stories of bingo and charity initiatives that cement bingo’s reputation as the game that just keeps on giving!  From market growth to product innovation, from big mergers to even bigger jackpot offers, we think 2010 will be a very interesting year for the bingo industry, and can’t wait to share our thoughts on the issues that will affect bingo fans up and down the country for the next 12 months!  Check out our first big prediction here.
