The general election fever seems to have hit fans of Virgin Bingo particularly hard, with many of them becoming involved in a new political movement that may well promise the type of political reform we’ve heard so much about over recent weeks. The poll asked 420 Virgin Bingo roomies who they would most like to see as the new resident of No.10. Of the respondents, 43% voted for Ricardo, with Nick Clegg trailing in 2nd place on 25%, David Cameron on 18% and the previous PM, Gordon Brown, receiving a rather pitiful 14% of the vote.
Ricardo has clearly been winning hearts and minds since he was introduced recently as part of a massive £1million television advertising campaign for Virgin Bingo. Featured in 30 second animated slots which will continue to run over the next 6 months across a wide range of TV channels, the campaign looks set to be a hit with online bingo fans everywhere. A statement released by Virgin Bingo has said that player registration has already doubled – seems like Ricardo the Bearded Jalapeno is making things hot hot hot at Virgin Bingo already!
A spokesperson for Virgin Games, which runs Virgin Bingo, said: “We’re thrilled that Ricardo has been such a hit. His appeal has been evident in the massive surge in registration at Virgin Bingo. What is worrying, however, is that Ricardo’s by far the most popular choice for PM – maybe it’s the beard? Perhaps the party candidates need to take some tips from Ricardo’s manifesto – he doesn’t propose spending cuts, but he does offer one hour of no lose bingo every day!”
