Networked bingo – one link too many?

So, the bingo world is getting all cosy, and more than ever, roomies are becoming aware of the various links that underpin our favourite online bingo sites. Whilst Foxy Bingo, Think Bingo and Cheeky Bingo are understandably recognisable names for most online bingo fans, so is the name of their owner, Cashcade, and indeed, their network which they run on, Globalcom. Now the walls have been broken down and we are all starting to get a feel for who runs what, it seems more sites are happy to go public and mention their brothers and sisters.

Roomies that consider themselves “old pros” will no doubt already be aware of this – you know the feeling of deja vu, where you step on a site and you see the same look and feel, the same games with the same jackpots on offer? This is because it’s a networked site – and often to make games and prizes bigger, network sites will take advantage of their links, directing players to the same games regardless of which bingo site you entered from.

As bingo fans, what does this mean for you? Well, it’s often a good thing. Bigger games mean bigger prizes, and it’s nice that no matter where you come from, you’ll end up interacting with like minded players. At the same time, there is something reassuring about stepping on a bingo site which is different, but still feels familiar.

And there are plenty of new and creative ways that networks are utilising their connections. A good example is all the sharing of promotions between Wink Bingo, Tasty Bingo, Posh Bingo and Red Bus Bingo. First came the massive £100k Joy Pot promo, which is still running and due to play at Wink Bingo in the coming weeks with a rather lovely £25k up for grabs. Now, the same guys are at it again with the Famous £4k for 4p promo, which kicks off at Posh Bingo this September 2nd and for 4 nights, players can win £1k for just 1p!

But the flip side is that network sites can be a little lazy, with new sites cropping up on the same network that are pretty much clones of the other sites. Whilst familiarity is a good thing, networks that seem to just be sticking to a tried and tested formula for their bingo sites can risk creating one link too many – and turning us off in the process. So what’s the tip for online bingo fans? It’s pretty simple – a good network will be able to offer you sites which not only work together, but have enough individual personality to keep you interest! And once you master this, you’ll find it easy to discover a whole bingo family just waiting to welcome you into the fold!
