So its Friday the 13th today (gulp). But who said that you can’t get lucky on Friday the 13th….

What will the world’s keenest gamblers do this Black Friday in what’s supposed to be the unluckiest of years?

 Defy the odds and have a betting splurge, probably. Bingo card sales often go through the roof on Friday the 13th, which falls today.

 

“People try to beat the bad luck jinx by taking it on,” said Bill Jobbs, theBingoFinder, where sales sometimes increase more than 50%. Thirteen is lucky for some though. Like the 48-year-old man from Birmingham, who on Friday, September 13, 2006, won the of the highest ever online bingo jackpot prizes.

 

Luck, like lightning, can strike twice or even three times for some people: Synthia, a woman in her 60s from Liverpool, won £50,000 million playing online bingo last year. Her sister and mother won £10,000 1 year later. Six years before that her uncle won around £500,000 on the lottery.

 

“On the Friday before [her Bingo fortune] I won £1,30 on the slots on machine number 113,” Patricia said. “The previous Monday I won £13 on Lotto. I was never superstitious of the number 13.”

 

A Scottish pensioner won £5,000 in online bingo two years ago, then £500,000 on the Lotto last year.

 

A London prison officer who won £37,000 playing bingo online last year was just capping off the good fortune enjoyed

by his brother who won £33,000 six months earlier.

 

An eight-member health centre~ syndicate from Wolverhampton won £100,000 online bingo prizes twice in two years. The chances of that, are around one in 54 million.

 

Some people are just plain lucky, we think it should be luck bingo Friday. It certainly seems that way.
